This exhibition brings together six Chinese Canadian artists—Morris Lum, Stella Zheng, Howie Tsui, Wang Chih Chien, Janet Wang, and Karen Tam—from across the country to engage with the layered histories of Chinese migration and settlement in Canada. Through diverse artistic practices, the exhibition offers critical reflections on diasporic memory, place, and identity.

Utilizing portable 3D scanning technology, the artists reimagine historical objects from the Chung Collection at UBC Library’s Rare Books and Special Collections, transforming archival materials into new visual forms. The result is a dynamic interplay between art, artifact, and history. The exhibition also includes animation, film, and interactive elements designed for younger audiences.

Presented with research support from the UBC Library’s Rare Books and Special Collections.
