A Soldier for All Seasons

May 2025-Ongoing

Chinese Canadian Museum, Vancouver Canada

Commemorating 80 years since the end of the Second World War, this exhibition examines the pivotal yet often overlooked role of Chinese Canadians in the conflict. Denied full citizenship and military enlistment at the war’s outset, Chinese Canadians defied systemic exclusion to serve across all branches and theatres of war. Their wartime contributions catalyzed a broader struggle for civil rights, culminating in the extension of full citizenship in 1947. Featuring archival photographs, personal artifacts, and immersive media, the exhibition foregrounds the lived experiences of those who fought for justice abroad and equality at home.
